Great recording, Best in the bunch
... But where's the SBD? Not to be UNGrateful, but this whole tour is extremely well documented with great boards and transfers, but the opener, perhaps the highlight of the summer tour, somehow is absent of a Soundboard.
Thank you Mr. Thomson for getting a great recording of this show, worthy of a download from someone who usually skips over AUDs, regardless of quality.
First Playin>Crazy Fingers opener since MSG 1982. I can't remember any other time they opened a second set with FOTD (at-least in the Brent days).
This could be the best performance of Dear Mister Fantasy. Hear the crowd go nuts and especially Jerry, Brent, and drummers matching their rowdy east-coast enthusiasm. Nothing like a New England Dead Show.

Los Lobos Grateful Dead This Land is Your Land
a nice little clip from youtube led me to search this date, saw your description. I was really hoping to find that recording if anyone can help.
5 star recording, thanks for the download with or without This Land, Good Times, and Sitting on Top of the World;)
*PS search the title of review on youtube to see the video I am referring to Jerry and Bobby with Los Lobos.

fox ->buffalo
the show in foxborough 2 nights prior opend 1st set with
playin->crazy fingers(wow!!hows that for a set opener) ...the playin was just up to the jam where they cut it off and went into crazy fingers
and i waited the entire show for them to pop back
into the reprise but alas it was not to be.
Did they forget about it??? I have no idea.
but you can imagine my delight when 2 days later in my home town of Buffalo when the better part of the way through the second set the come creeping out of ship of fools to finish it off with the playin reprise!!!! yeah! Now thats a band! I dont know who else noticed it at the time
or later for that matter!? When i met back up w/friend after the show who had been with me in foxborough (who know there Dead) they seem to think i was off my rocker. but off course the tapes later upheld my version of this unusual occurence. I dont know if this has happend before
or after but i knew it happend that night.
being there i thought fox borrough was the better of the 2 shows but the tapes seem to indicate otherwise.

VERY HOT recording!
This is one of the best Audience recordings available on the Archive. The force of the sound entering the mics is incredible...very loud and clear. Danny Thompson had his sh!t together. Please checkout Danny's other FOB/MOTB offering from Freedom Hall - 4/9/1989.

Great recording
While the show is very good, what I wanted to review was the recording. While not without crowd noise, this recording was conducted square in the sweet spot. It's freakin lovely, nice job. The cymbals are crisp, Phil is there, all the voices are front center; it sounds like a matrix with a 85% mix of audience. This is how Healy heard the show. I recorded the show behind the soundboard with everyone else, and I got the same hollow, stadium sound everyone else got. Why I never went FOB is beyond me. Download this show, you need it.
